PBLL engages learners in investigating, over an extended time, a complex real-world issue to benefit an authentic audience. From design to implementation, we will walk through the steps to creating a meaningful and successful project. Additionally, we will explore ways that technology can be used to support project design and implementation.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Outcomes<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>By the end of this workshop, participants will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>gain a deeper understanding of the key elements of high quality Project-Based Learning in the language classroom and be able to differentiate between PBLL and \u201cdoing projects\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>identify tech tools that can support project design and implementation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Presenter<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span id=\"main_content_Pnl877aaf3f739d4834b7a9e7d0dc43993d_ctlProductDetails_lblFullDescription\">Rachel Mamiya Hernandez is a Language and Technology Faculty Specialist at the Center for Language &amp;amp; Technology at the University of Hawai\u2018i at M\u0101noa. She has over 15 years of experience teaching Spanish and Portuguese at the university level. She holds a BA in Latin American Studies, an MA in Second Language Studies with a concentration in Language Teaching, and a PhD in Learning Design and Technology.
