The Volunteer Manager welcomes new volunteers and provides individualized management and support to volunteer English teachers in Boulder County. A focus is ensuring that those teaching group classes have the tools and confidence to be the best they can be.
Required Competencies
Interpersonal – Guide conversations to assess volunteer applicants’ eligibility to participate in our Boulder County program. Skill at communicating proactively, courteously, and effectively with volunteer teachers, students and staff to provide excellent customer service in person, via email, text and over the phone.
Community-Building – Proven skill at building community, fostering positive relationships, and sharing knowledge.
Flexibility – Able to adapt to frequently changing circumstances and processes. Skill at working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
Processes – Skill at using and improving existing processes to support volunteer teachers through intake, orientation, training and ongoing support/management of challenges.
Accuracy and attention to detail – Skill at collecting and recording data to maintain accurate records.
Organizational and Project Management – Able to effectively manage multiple competing priorities, paying close attention to details, goals and deadlines for completion.
Multicultural Experience – Experience working successfully in a multicultural environment.
Availability – Able and willing to work 2 to 4 weekday evenings and has access to reliable transportation.
Desired Competencies
Teaching – Experience teaching English or another language to speakers of other languages.
Volunteer Management – Experience managing volunteers.
Language – Proficiency in a language other than English.
Salesforce – Experience using Salesforce or a similar Customer Relations Management software.
