Kaylynn Phillips, English Teacher

I am a South African residing in Johannesburg, equipped with a Bachelor of Social Science degree focusing on Criminology and Psychology, earned in 2017, followed by an Honours degree in Criminology in 2018. In 2020, I acquired a TEFL certification from the UIC Barcelona International University of Catalonia, and my most recent qualification is a 10-hour TEFL/TESOL certificate in Teaching English Online to groups, obtained in July 2023. Joining BridgeEnglish in September 2021, I have been teaching English for five years, driven by a lifelong passion for teaching, particularly ignited during my teenage years while assisting children at my church. As a native English speaker in a country with 11 official languages, I aspire to become proficient in at least three. My teaching philosophy centers on nurturing students’ progress, and the most gratifying moments come at the end of each course, witnessing students reflect on their journeys and newfound confidence in the English language.
