Adriel Mellado, Bridge Global Teacher: Connecting on a Human Level to Learn with Confidence

Adriel Mellado, a Bridge Global Teacher, representing human connection in corporate English teaching from Chile.

At Bridge, we believe that the quality of a class begins long before the content—it starts with the human connection between teacher and learner. That’s why our teachers don’t just teach English; they support professionals through a growth process that directly impacts confidence, performance, and participation in real workplace contexts.

Adriel Mellado, a Bridge Global Teacher, deeply represents this perspective. His background, pedagogical approach, and emotional awareness reflect the kind of learning experience we strive to create for every learner.

A Calling Born from Helping and Connecting

Adriel’s interest in teaching began early. During his school years, he realized that teaching went far beyond delivering content—it was about supporting others in their learning journey. That conviction led him to study English Pedagogy, a decision that shaped his professional path.

“During my time in high school, I realized that being a teacher isn’t just about teaching, but also about helping and connecting with people.”

Today, his main motivation continues to be the impact he has on his students, both academically and on a human level.

“Seeing my students’ happiness when they master a new concept and achieve their goals is what motivates me the most.”

Corporate English: Functional, Specific, and Contextual

From his experience, Adriel identifies clear differences between teaching in traditional educational settings and in the corporate world. In companies, the focus is on practical English that can be applied directly to daily work.

“In corporate environments, students want functional English, oriented toward practical contexts that are directly related to their work.”

He also highlights that even professionals within the same company can have very different needs, which requires constant adaptation of content and objectives.

“Even if two people have the same English level, their roles and responsibilities define completely different language skills.

Technology, AI, and Learners More Aware of Their Learning

Adriel has closely observed how technology—especially artificial intelligence—is transforming English training in companies. Today, personalized materials and autonomous practice are more accessible than ever.

“Digital tools allow us to create materials tailored to students’ real needs much more quickly and effectively.”

He also notes an important shift among learners: greater awareness of the importance of English and the value of complementing classes with technological tools.

Motivation and Emotions: The True Driver of Learning

One of the biggest challenges when working with professionals is maintaining motivation amid demanding work schedules. For Adriel, the key lies in the emotional component and in building a safe learning space.

“For me, it’s essential that the student not only feels comfortable, but also happy in class.”

His approach focuses on building confidence, reducing anxiety, and positioning the teacher as a close, supportive figure, not as a distant authority.

Confidence That Translates into Professional Impact

Among the greatest achievements he sees in his students is the development of confidence to communicate in English and actively participate in professional contexts.

“When students reduce anxiety, they’re able to break through the mental barrier that often limits them, even when they’re well prepared.”

This progress benefits not only the individual, but also the organization, which gains more confident, engaged employees who are better able to contribute their ideas.

Technology with a Human Heart

Adriel envisions a future that is increasingly remote, accessible, and supported by technology. However, he has a clear conviction about the role of teachers.

“Technology will never be able to appeal to the emotional and human component with the same intensity as teachers do.”

At Bridge, we share this vision: technology enhances learning, but it’s human connection that makes it truly meaningful.
