Hailing from South Africa and currently residing in Edenvale, Johannesburg, this experienced teacher possesses a BA Degree in Psychology and Education, along with several TEFL certifications. Starting with Bridge in May 2023, the teacher began an online ESL journey in January 2021 after a 35-year corporate career. Incorporating real-world business scenarios, the teacher leverages extensive business background and research skills. Utilizing a library of past lessons and referencing platforms like iSLCOLLECTIVE, Linguahouse, Black Cat graded readers, and Speak and Improve enhances the students’ learning experience. Challenges often involve students’ conversational skills, vocabulary, and pronunciation, tackled through encouraging the use of lesson-specific phrasal verbs and creating a learner-friendly environment with humor and confidence-building games.
