About

Build the judgment to teach any lesson the way it actually needs to be taught. Most English teachers settle into one default approach and use it for everything, but the same lesson aim can be reached through very different methods, and the strongest teachers choose deliberately. In this live BridgeVoices panel, you’ll watch a single English lesson aim taught several ways, then learn how to match your method to the aim, the learners, and the moment in front of you. You’ll leave able to make a confident methodological choice in your very next lesson, and with a clear sense of where to take your teaching next.

What you’ll learn
• How to match a teaching method such as presentation-led, guided discovery, task-based, communicative, TPR, or other method to your lesson aim and your learners
• A simple planning framework for choosing your approach before you build the lesson
• How experienced teachers combine approaches within one lesson without losing coherence
• How to tell when your default method isn’t serving your learners, and what to reach for instead
