    BridgeTEFL trainers are professionals in the field who are experienced in teaching English and dedicated to training English teachers. All of our teacher trainers have a bachelor’s degree, at minimum, and most have either an M.A. or certification in TEFL and extensive practical teaching experience in a variety of contexts. Most importantly, BridgeTEFL trainers are passionate about what they do and consistently strive to serve the diverse needs of their EFL students and TEFL trainees.

Denise Kray

Denise Kray

CELTA/IDELT Instructor

Denise earned her B.A. in Elementary Education in 1995 from the University of Alberta, Canada, and also holds a Cambridge Delta Module Two (Developing professional practice). After college, she spent a year teaching English in Japan. Upon returning to the States, Denise earned her Colorado teacher credential, and in 1997, started with Bridge in Denver, teaching ESL classes. In 2003, Denise became a teacher trainer for the BridgeTEFL programs, including the Cambridge CELTA and Bridge IDELT.

David is a native of London, England, and has been a teacher and trainer in the field English teaching since the 1980s. He has taught in a wide variety of contexts, including universities, private language schools, and public school, and has worked in Europe, the Middle East, and North and South America. David has trained teachers in Brazil through the British Council, and is also an approved trainer for the School for International Training. David holds the three main credentials in the field: CELTA, DELTA, and an MA Applied Linguistics, and is a CELTA trainer at Bridge.

Leah Donelson

IDELT Instructor

Leah earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature in 2012 from the University of Colorado, and also holds a Cambridge CELTA certification. She began teaching at Bridge Education Group, Inc. in 2014 and has taught ESL classes of all levels, including test preparation, grammar, reading, listening, and speaking in Academic, Business, and General English programs. She has also assisted in curriculum development for the General and Academic English programs. Additionally, she is an invigilator for the IELTS exam. In 2016, Leah became a teacher trainer for the BridgeTEFL program as an IDELT instructor in Denver.

Karina lived most of her childhood in the U.S., but moved to Argentina as a teenager. She has a master's degree in psychology and has been involved in the education field for many years. Karina’s career began nearly 30 years ago, when she taught Business English classes at international companies, and during that time she also taught general English to young learners. She has also shared her knowledge in the field of English teaching as a speaker at TEFL conferences. Karina joined Bridge 12 years ago at our center in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where in addition to being a TEFLOnline.com tutor, she is also an IDELT trainer.

Terry Mclean earned her B.A. in Business from Brenau College, and later completed a Master's in Education in ESL from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is currently studying for her Doctorate in Education in Curriculum and Instruction. Terry has fifteen years’ experience teaching English, nine of which were spent working with high school students in rural North Carolina. She also has experience teaching abroad in Germany, where she worked as a private ESL tutor for five years. She is an instructor for the graduate-level Bridge IDELT – Online course, as well as a tutor for TEFLOnline.com.

Ann Leonard has a B.A. in Germanic Studies from the University of Texas at Austin and an M.A. in TESOL from the School for International Training in Brattleboro, Vermont. She has been in the field of adult language education since 1991, starting as an English teacher in Germany and then later in Japan. In the States, Ann has taught general and academic English and has presented at International TESOL in addition to local TESOL conferences. Ann’s area of specialty in the field of TEFL is curriculum development for effective pedagogy in online instruction. She is a Bridge TEFLOnline.com tutor and an instructor for the graduate-level, online Bridge TESOL course, The International Diploma in English Language Teaching (IDELT Online).

Gabriela, or “Gabby,” has over 20 years' experience Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). She has worked as a classroom TEFL teacher for more than 10 years and as an online tutor for about 8 years. She has experience teaching a variety of levels and ages, in settings ranging from preschools to large corporations, and everything in between. She has an Associate's in ESL Education and a Bachelor's in Public Technical Literary Translation. She has also completed extensive post-graduate work in TESOL, including at the University of Santa Barbara, CA.

After graduation, she has taught English to speakers of other languages at intensive English programs in Colorado and Wisconsin. She loves the science, art, and pedagogy of language acquisition and has studied several languages herself, including French, Spanish, German, Japanese, Italian, and Arabic. Suzanne has a Bachelor’s in English from Barnard College and a Master’s in Creative Writing from Illinois State University, where she got her start teaching English as a second language at their intensive English Language Institute. Suzanne has taught at DePaul University, Columbia College Chicago, and The School of the Art Institute Chicago. Suzanne has lived overseas, in Istanbul, Turkey, where she taught in the Communications department of Koç University. She is the author of two novels, Promising Young Women (2012) and Her 37th Year, an Index (2015).

Tiffany Hendrix earned her bachelor's degree from Indiana University. There, she worked as a study abroad advisor, accompanying students to Ecuador, Greece, and France. After earning her master's degree at University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Tiffany taught history and English Language Learning (ELL) in the Clark County School District and also taught in Guatemala. Tiffany joined Bridge as an Academic Director for centers in Chadron, Nebraska and Grand Junction, Colorado. She has presented at iTESOL conferences in Utah and is an active member of iTESOL and TESOL. In addition to being a TEFLOnline.com tutor, she is currently teaching French and ELL in Western Colorado.

Cathy Jenkins (or “CJ”) received both a bachelor’s master’s in the field of linguistics from Northeastern Illinois University. She has taught for the English Language Academy at DePaul University since 2006, and she designed their reading and writing tutoring program. CJ gave a presentation at Illinois TESOL-BE in 2012 on developing tutoring programs Especially for an Intensive English Program, and has also presented research on humor in the classroom at the 2004 Conference in Dijon, France. Her dream is to spend the rest of her life commuting between Ireland and Hawaii, but for now she is happy to live in her Chicago condo and enjoy a fabulous view of Lake Michigan.

Geoff comes from England but has lived in Thailand for many years. He has a diverse professional background including education, psychology, and information technology, and TEFL, particularly C.A.L.L. (Computer Assisted Language Learning). Geoff earned his B.S. in Social Sciences from Norwich University in the UK and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education/TEFL from Garnett College. He has taught English in the UK, Greece, and Thailand. Geoff was program director and CALL course writer and curriculum designer for ICC Thailand, delivering computer-assisted ESL programs to colleges and universities throughout the country. He continues to be a consultant for the higher education sector in Thailand.

Liset was born in Cuba, but lived part of her life in Cape Verde, an island nation off the coast of Africa. After earning her Bachelor’s in Education, she went on to earn a Master’s in TESOL from the School of International Training in Vermont, as well as a Master’s in Applied Linguistics in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language, from the University of Jaen in Madrid. London. She is currently working on her Doctorate in Education. Liset earned her TEFL certification in Barcelona, Spain, and a certificate in Teaching Business English in London. Liset has taught English in Cuba, Cape Verde, Spain and the United States and speaks several languages, including Spanish, Portuguese, and Creole. She currently lives in Salem, Oregon, where is an English Language Acquisition Specialist for the Salem-Keizer School District. Liset has been a TEFLOnline.com tutor since 2004.

Based in Thailand for many years, Rex grew up in California, but considers Hawaii his "spiritual" home. Rex has a Master's in Educational Psychology, a Bachelor's in Counseling Psychology, and a CELTA certificate from the British Council in Singapore. He has more than twenty years’ experience in the field of TEFL, including management and teacher training experience in Hawaii and Asia. Rex has taught English in a variety of settings, including the Hawaiian campus of Japan's Tokai University, the University of Hawaii, and Canadian International School in Singapore. He also served as head of the English Language Department for the Singapore Institute of Commerce, the oldest business school in Singapore.
