Evan Frendo
Evan Frendo has been involved in ESP and business English teaching since 1993, primarily within the corporate sector. Based in Berlin, Germany, he divides his time between training, writing, and consulting, travelling widely to work with clients in different parts of the world. He also speaks regularly at conferences and other ELT events, and was the opening plenary speaker at the 2023 IATEFL Conference in Harrogate. He has considerable experience in creating corporate in-house training materials, managing teams of up to 20 writers, and has also authored several coursebooks and methodology books. The latter include "How to Teach Business English" (Pearson, 2005), a staple in business English teacher training courses. His recent projects include training and consulting for the maritime industry, lecturing on the ESP module of the University of Malta's MA TESOL programme, and developing in-house materials for corporate clients. He has been a member of IATEFL BESIG, an international community of business English
Andreea-Katia Nechifor
Andreea-Katia Nechifor has been organizing, managing and delivering business English programs to companies for over 15 years. She holds a BA in Philology and one in Business Administration, a master's in Marketing and is currently pursuing a master's in Strategic Human Resource Management, with a focus on Learning & Development. Her interests in L&D extend to the ROI of foreign language courses, ensuring that training initiatives align with business objectives. Her area of expertise is gamification as a tool to drive engagement, going beyond traditional point-based systems to create meaningful and immersive learning experiences. She designs interactive learning environments that foster intrinsic motivation and long-term knowledge retention. In addition to her entrepreneurial and instructional work, she served as the Events Coordinator for IATEFL BESIG for five years, contributing to the professional development of business English trainers worldwide.
Virginia López Grisolía
Virginia López Grisolía is a highly experienced educator specializing in English as a Foreign Language, holding a graduate degree from ISP J.V. González in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She further enhanced her academic credentials with a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Linguistics from Belgrano University. In addition to her teaching qualifications, Virginia has trained as a simultaneous and consecutive interpreter, gaining valuable experience in both government and corporate environments. With over 30 years of dedicated service, she has taught English Grammar and Linguistics at Teacher Training Colleges and Translators’ Courses. Currently, Virginia imparts her knowledge of Linguistics and Applied Linguistics at three esteemed universities in Buenos Aires. She is also the founder and Director of Studies at Interaction Language Studio, a pioneering institution focused on the teaching of ESP and Business English since 1988. Her interests encompass English as a Business Lingua Franca (BELF), translanguaging, and providing effective feedback to learners in professional contexts. Virginia has made significant contributions to the field, serving as the President of APIBA (Association of Graduate English Teachers of Buenos Aires) for four years, an active member of FAAPI. Shelynn Riel
Shélynn (Shey) Riel is an international English language educator, teacher trainer, and podcaster with a Master's in TESOL and over 15 years of experience. She serves as Bridge's Expert Series Moderator and an instructor in Bridge's graduate-level TEFL program, the IDELTOnline™. Throughout her career, Shey has held leadership roles in curriculum development and program administration at U.S. universities and non-profits, facilitated digital exchanges for global English teachers, and delivered professional development workshops in Argentina, Bangladesh, and China.
