Job Description

Start date April 13th, 2020.
Manage staff, including staff recruitment, development, and training, absence reporting, timekeeping, new start induction.
Organize and manage the teaching timetable.
Ensure that high-quality programs are delivered, focused mainly on communicative methodology to maximize learning outcomes and student satisfaction.
Contribute to course planning.
Create a new syllabus according to the needs of the GLA and the demand of new students

Requirements & Qualifications

Bachelors degree in any subject (education-related preferred)
A diploma or MA in TEFL
Solid teaching experience
Previous teacher training and management experience
Native English speaker or non-native with fluent English and a clear accent
Spanish language speaker with a B1-B2 level.
Experience living and working in similar locations will be highly valued.

Salary & Benefits

1200 USD p/m, plus two paid weeks holidays and other benefits granted for the Ecuadorian labour law.
We sponsor and pay legal residency in the Galapagos Islands and Ecuadorian work visa. (The fee for the Ecuadorian work visa is reimbursed after finishing the contract)
One week paid holiday in September and one week in December.

Galapagos Language Academy is located in Puerto Ayora, the town with the largest population of all the Galapagos Islands, with over 15,000 residents scattered in small villages across the island. The school provides a very open, personable, and enjoyable atmosphere, we teach English to people of the community from 2010, and we have students of all different ages from 3 years old to adult. We also teach other languages like Spanish, German, and French. We are recruiting a Director of Studies to assist the Administrative Director in the running of the school. The role includes the implementation, administration of all aspects of the academic program.
