Institutional accreditation
An evaluation of the organization itself — its governance, finances, staff, student outcomes, and record-keeping — typically involving site visits and a continuing multi-year review cycle. In the United States, the accreditor itself must be recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. This is the most comprehensive form of review in the field.
