The Specialized Certificate in Teaching English Grammar does not have written assignments; your final grade in this course is determined by your average grade on 12 short module quizzes. You must earn a minimum of 70% in order to pass the course and receive your 40-Hour Specialized Certification in Teaching English Grammar.
You will have one year from the day you enroll in your Specialized Certificate in Teaching English Grammar (Grammar Advisor) to complete it. (Most students finish the course sooner – in four to six weeks.)
If you don’t finish your course within one year for any reason, you can purchase an extension to complete it, either before it expires or for up to one year after expiration. Extensions cost $100 for an additional 3 months. Please note that once your course/extension has expired, you will no longer have access to the course.
To take Bridge Specialized Certificates, you must be at least 18 years old. You will need to have completed high school diploma or equivalent. If you are not a native English speaker, you should have an English fluency at a B1 level or higher, according to the Common European Framework.
It is recommended that you are either already TEFL/TESOL certified, or enroll concurrently in a TEFL/TESOL course, such as the IDELTOnline™ to take a Specialized Certificate course. Please note that the 120-Hour Master TEFL/TESOL Certificate includes Grammar Advisor.
Specialized Certificate courses can be taken on their own to complement general certification or teaching experience you already have. They may also be added on to your enrollment in any Bridge course.
Grammar Advisor is included in Bridge’s most popular Professional TEFL/TESOL Certification, the 120-Hour Master Certificate.
If you add a Specialized Certificate to Bridge certification, your final certificate will reflect the total number of hours completed, with individual components listed. For example, if you added the Specialized Certificate in Teaching English Grammar (40 hours) to the IDELTOnline™ course (150 hours), you would receive a 190-hour Bridge certificate upon completion of both courses. The two course names would be listed separately below the total hours on your certificate.
The Grammar Advisor team is comprised of real grammar experts who are available to answer your questions as you work though the course material – and even after you’ve completed your certification (for up to a year). Simply submit your question using the course messaging feature and it will be personally answered by a Grammar Advisor.
You must earn a minimum of 70% in order to pass and receive your 40-hour Specialized Certification in Teaching English Grammar. Your final grade in this course is determined by your combined average grade on 12 short module quizzes.

If you’re new to the field or haven’t yet earned a TEFL/TESOL certification, we recommend starting with a Professional Certification. This will help you build a strong foundation in English teaching theory and methodology before specializing your skills. Good news: Grammar Advisor is built into the 120-Hour Master TEFL/TESOL Certificate (our most popular course)! Or, you can pair it with the IDELTOnline, our most advanced certification course. Learn more about each option.
