BESIG: Assessment to Application: Teaching Workplace English with TOEIC® 4-Skills

This interactive workshop equips educators with tools to effectively teach both workplace and everyday English, using the new TOEIC® 4-Skills test as an assessment for learning. The session begins with a quick overview of the variety of question types on the test and the specific language skills they assess. With a focus on practical application, the workshop then reviews essential TOEIC resources that aid in creating targeted learning objectives and designing lesson plans. Attendees will discover classroom activities designed to foster active student participation. A key component of the webinar is the exploration of ETS’s score descriptors for the tests. Educators will learn how to interpret these descriptors and apply them as a formative assessment tool to support and guide student learning. Ultimately, the workshop aims to share teaching and learning strategies, exchange best practices and expertise, and empower teachers to enrich their instructional repertoire with resources from the workshop.
