IATEFL IPSENSIG – Creative strategies for balancing emotional, physical and mental wellbeing in the classroom

What do a jazz song and a teacher’s wellbeing have in common? A good jazz tune flows with rhythm, sings with melody, and holds together in harmony—just like our physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing when it’s in balance. In this 60-minute session, we’ll begin with a musical metaphor to reflect on how rhythm, melody, and harmony can represent the three core dimensions of wellbeing. Then we’ll move from metaphor to practice. This session will offer practical, creative strategies that support teacher and learner wellbeing, drawn from mindfulness, visual art, and simple classroom rituals. These techniques are designed to be low-prep, flexible, and grounding—ideal for busy teachers who want to create more  balance in their classrooms and lives. Whether you’re looking to restore your own rhythm or inspire harmony in your learners, this workshop invites you to pause, reflect, and tune into your jazzy sense of wellbeing.
