The British Council and the BRAZ-TESOL EdTech SIG are pleased to invite you to this thought-provoking webinar:
Abstract
This session explores how teachers can leverage digital tools to create effective, level-appropriate classroom assessments across the four language skills. We’ll begin with receptive skills, examining how readability tools (e.g., Flesch-Kincaid in Word) and corpus-based word frequency analyses can align texts with learners’ proficiency levels. For productive skills, we’ll investigate how chatbots can support writing and speaking tasks, as well as provide feedback on student output. Throughout, we’ll emphasise the importance of using the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) to set clear, level-specific expectations. By the end of the session, attendees will be equipped with practical, accessible tools to design and implement tech-enhanced assessments, making the evaluation process more dynamic and tailored to their students’ needs.
